This has been a special week for so many reasons. First, we have another award-winning author
in the house. Luke won third place on
the second grade Young Author's contest. He wrote a story called, "My Dream
Come True." This was a story
about the joy of finding out we were finally going to get a dog.

The boys have stepped up with some
responsibilities with Bella. Joshua is awesome about taking Bella for a walk
around the neighborhood. Joshua does not
mind walking or feeding her. Luke does not like to take Bella out to use the
bathroom. Bella is so good with it,
too. As long as take her out every few
hours, she will go within 2-3 minutes.
What a great puppy! She is so
sweet and lovable, too. Her fur is very soft and fluffy. She looks like a big fluffy ball.

January
brought us Family Science Night and the Pinewood Derby. The boys had fun making slime, blowing
bubbles, and making binoculars at this fun evening! We are so lucky that our school has these fun
nights for the whole family! Joshua and
Luke mad great fun making their cars for the Pinewood Derby. Dad helped you
both make fast cars. You
both helped a lot in the process. Your
cars were faster this year. When we got
to the Derby, both of your cars weighed a little more than what was allowed, so
luckily there was a pit stop where Dad could drill lots of holes in the car to
bring the cars to the proper weight. It
was a fun day, and we can not wait until next year when we try again.

March will
bring Sunday afternoon reflections with our Atrium friends whom are
also preparing for this sacrament. There
will also be a retreat later in March in which these children will make their
own bread and taste the wine if they would like. This is an exciting time for
Luke and our family.
Our family and several scout families went on the second
annual trip to Grafton for eagle watching and family fun. We stopped by the War monument next to the
Mississippi River. We went to the Lock & Dam. Then, on a ferry across the Mississippi Riv er to the old Whitmond Hotel for a fancy dinner with all the fixins. It was funny to hear the boys talk about what a fancy dinner we had. The boys were tired, but we spent another memorable day with our scout families.
